World Water Day 2022

World Water Day 2022

Every year, on March 22, the United Nations launches an appeal to celebrate the day dedicated to the protection of water. Rishilpi's goal is to ensure accessibility and sustainable management of water and sanitation by 2030 to everyone, at least in the Satkhira area. What does it mean? It means greatly reducing waterborne diseases such as dysentery, amoebiasis, skin diseases, typhoid fever, cholera and others; supporting inclusion in communities, ensuring that all people can collect safe water; reducing the health costs of unsafe water and water collection from afar (carried out by women and children for the most part); train people to manage and maintain the filters (for most women). In 2021, we provided drinking water every day for: 9000 people a day thanks to the 44 community filters, checked monthly; 1000 people in a day on the central campus thanks to the water supply via pipeline; 1,647 students thanks to the 35 Bio-sand(filter with sand and biofilm filters (BSF); 300 20-liter Rishilpi Drinking water jars every day for about 1200 people / day; Information sessions on water for 973 people (due to covid the meetings have been reduced)
